Hey there! I’m Kristen.
I think too much. That’s why I’ve already spent 15 minutes staring at a blinking cursor trying to figure out what to say about myself. This should be easy — no one knows me better than I. The go-to, of course, is to say I’m a marketing communications professional with a Master’s degree. And I am. But I’m also a lot more than my job & my education.
I’m also a new-ish wife & an even newer dog mama. I never thought I’d be a crazy dog person, but here I am. You try having a bad day when there is always 17 pounds of love & excitement waiting for you on the other side of your front door. (I suppose it’s nice coming home to a husband, too.)

One of our first family photos taken on Valentine’s Day 2015. I’m pictured here with my husband, Andrew, and our sweet Duke Dog. (The dog did not join us for dinner, I’m not that crazy.)
It’s funny how the things we take on in our personal lives can help us professionally, too. Having a pup has helped me learn to be more patient. Actually, having a husband has helped here as well.
I’m a retired soccer player. I would like to coach kids one day. (Now that I’m so patient.) I think I was born competitive, but playing soccer all my life only increased my desire to win. Luckily, soccer is a team sport, so I’ve learned the value of team work. There’s nothing better than having someone to pass to — personally & professionally. It’s nice to be able to receive the pass, too. Plus, when you have a team to work with, winning is much better, losing is much easier & rebuilding takes half the time.
I’m an amateur photographer. Emphasis on the amateur. But I enjoy it & I think I’ve taken some pretty decent shots. One thing I’ve learned from photography is that everything is beautiful if you look at it in the right way. This is an easy lesson to forget, but when you do remember, it makes everything extraordinary.

Snapshot I took on our last trip to Amsterdam in October 2014. It’s not in the Louvre, but it’s on my kitchen wall.
I’m passionate. Sometimes to a fault. When I believe in something, I believe in it right or wrong, good or bad. I will put everything I have into something I believe in. This has lead to some major disappointments, but it’s lead to many more great things. It’s served me well professionally. It’s something I recently learned to own personally. The really good news is that I’ve found I can care deeply about anything & anyone. I just need to find a commonality & make a personal connection. Once I’ve found it, you’ll be stuck with me for the long haul. (Sorry not sorry.)
